“True education is opening the heart rather than the mind.”
St. Thomas Higher Secondary School, Aldona, has been shaping young minds and forming noble hearts for over 34 years. As an educational ministry of the Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales (MSFS), we are inspired by the vision of our Founder, the Servant of God, Fr. Peter Mary Mermier, who believed that education is a powerful means of transforming individuals and society.
Guided by the gentle spirituality of St. Francis de Sales, we are committed to our motto, “The Heart of Education is the Education of the Heart.” We believe that true education extends beyond academic excellence. It nurtures the whole person—mind, heart, and spirit—forming individuals who are intellectually competent, morally upright, and socially responsible. As the saying reminds us, “Intelligence plus character is true education.”
Our institution offers diverse academic opportunities through the Arts, Commerce, Science, and Vocational (CRM) streams, enabling every student to discover and develop their unique talents. Our dedicated Principal, committed teachers, and supportive staff continually update their knowledge and skills to provide quality education in a caring, disciplined, and encouraging environment.
We live in an era of rapid technological advancement, artificial intelligence, globalization, and constant change. While these developments open new horizons, they also demand young people with integrity, resilience, compassion, and wisdom. At St. Thomas, we prepare our students not merely for examinations or careers but for life itself. We encourage them to embrace hard work, discipline, creativity, lifelong learning, and a deep commitment to truth and service, so that they become confident leaders and responsible citizens capable of making a positive difference in the world.
Education is a shared mission. Parents, teachers, management, and the wider community work together to create an atmosphere where every child is respected, every talent is nurtured, and every dream is encouraged. We strive to ensure that our students leave our campus not only with knowledge and skills but also with values that will guide them throughout their lives.
As we continue this mission of forming young hearts and minds, we entrust our institution to the loving care of Mary, Mother of Sorrows, our heavenly patroness. We invoke the intercession of St. Francis de Sales, whose wisdom and gentleness inspire our educational ministry; the Servant of God, Fr. Peter Mary Mermier, whose vision continues to guide our congregation; and St. Thomas, the patron of our institution, who inspires us to seek truth with courage and faith.
